China-India Trade and Investment Promotion Conference Held in Xiamen
On March 7, the Xiamen Trade Promotion Association, the Indian Consulate General in Guangzhou, the Xiamen International Stone Exhibition Organizing Committee and the Xiamen Stone Chamber of Commerce jointly organized a China-India trade and investment promotion conference in India - a special venue for stone, ceramics and building materials in India. Consul General of India in Guangzhou Consulate Tang Shien, Vice Chairman of Xiamen CCPIT Yan Zhiping, Chairman of Cangzhou Council for Trade Promotion Qiu Yaming, and representatives from more than a dozen Indian companies and institutions such as India Export Promotion Association, Indian Stone Development Center and Indian Federa.tion of Industry and Commerce Attended the event.
As one of the BRIC countries and along the Belt and Road, India and Xiamen have maintained close cooperative relations. According to Consul General Tang Shien, in 2017, the total import and export trade between Xiamen and India was 1.79 billion U.S. dollars, and India is a large exporter and consumer of stone. Consul General Tang hopes that in the future Xiamen and Indian companies can have more cooperation in the field of stone and building materials.
At the meeting, Mr. R Veeramani, Vice Chairman of India Export Promotion Association, President of Chennai Gem Group, Mr. Ashok Dhoot, Deputy Director of Indian Stone Development Center, and professionals in the legal industry briefed on the current status of the Indian stone industry’s exports and the development of the overall stone industry. Conditions, legal issues that need attention in Indian import and export.
Nearly 80 local companies and stone exhibitors participated in the meeting. After the meeting, the company had an exchange with the representatives of Indian companies and associations.
